No lag, not even comp lag (display settings running at 1280x1024 res, 4x AA and 16 Anistrophic, everything in-game is on "high") - I also have many things running in the background also.. i.e. MSN, Winamp, Azureus (torrenting

), other stuff that doesn't eat alot of ram individually but they add up.

I'm not being an "apologist" as I've been accused of in the other "OMG IT LAGS" threads. But seriously, there are so many things to consider, yes the NF event has probably increased the server load (reason for the lag, but seriously everyone, since you all know about the event, then this lag shouldn't be of any surprise). Having a super computer doesn't mean you won't lag. Even something as simple as dust build-up can slow down your computer significantly. If your computer is running slow, don't expect your connection to be running smoothly considering your comp is too busy lagging to send out packets.

So before you all rage-quit, sit back, find something else to do (when I'm not on GW I like to sit back and have a good read or work on my gunpla or hey, even STUDY

)

But hey, what do I know, I'm no computer engineer/progammer.

Lag wasn't too bad during NF preview, but tonight it's AWFUL.
And I'm not letting ANet off of the hook either.
The lag hasn't gotten any better since I first started having major problems 4 weeks ago. Just because people stop making noises about something doesn't mean it has gone away.

I would be willing to countenance the idea that it may just possibly be my end if it weren't for the fact that every other internet action I perform, be it gaming, browsing or email, is absolutely perfect.

And as I said before, whilst it may not be a technical problem at either ANet's end or my end and a problem somewhere in between, it's ANet's responsibility to try and find the offending party and work with them to resolve it.

Oh, and for you idiots who continually pop up in these threads saying that because you're not having problems it must be my problem, I sincerely hope that this fault comes along and bites you in your smug, ignorant arses.

had no problem (well not many) in NF preview, but unable to play tonight witht he constant err7s

Also checked everything including defragging the dat file, and no problems this end

I need to chime in here as well. I don't want to complain but....
Over the past 3-4 weeks I have also had an unreal amount of error 7's. It is not my internet. I can get on the net and everything is working fine.
Every now and then I keep something open in the background and when I error 7 out, the internet is working just fine.

I believe it is completely a GW problem, since I have no problems with anything else other than GW. I hope this gets addressed before the release of Nightfall.

The amount of err7 I was getting today made GW simply unplayable. I was literally being D/Cd every 5 minutes. And, OH YAY!...since the last D/C, GW won't even connect! So awesome!!

I have to agree here. I rarely ever 007 and everytime I have it has been my internet problem. Tonight tho GW was absolutely unplayable! Tried doing the deep and would rubberband for 2-3 minutes and then finally 007 a few minutes later. Got so bad as soon as I would log back on I wouldn't last a minute.

Needless to say I found something else to do tonight!

The last time I had network lag was during the Dragon Festival, before that I have no idea. Now I know this is anecdotal, but then so is everything else here

. The only lag I get is when I've accidentally left 4xAA on after taking a screeny, and of course that's not network lag at all. It must be a regional thing.

Went and did a few other things for a couple hours, hoping it may be cleared up when I got back.

Logged in, five minutes later, D/C. there isn't even any lag for me anymore...it's just a sudden disconnect/err7...

I was getting hit so bad that I would rubberband for about 5 minutes (amid afew choice words being said towards my computer

) and then disconnected. However, I turned off my computer, made sure my connections were good, and disabled/renabled my network connection. Since then I haven't lagged as bad, though I still do get the occassional bit. I have heard numerous people in game complain though, so I doubt everyone just needs to reset their connections (or who knows maybe they do :P )

i cannot belive this outrageous lag im getting since the end of the nightfall preview event. during the event and before it i ran PERFECTLY. now today, the day after the event ended i cant get in 5 minutes of gameplay without getting disconnected. its not my computer, i dont have a $2,500 computer for nothing. =P

and one other thing, those damn hour glasses on skills...

if possible, can i get an official answer to this lag, when it will stop or anything thing at all? thanks...

Lots of us are having the same problem.

You won't get an "official" reply. Support will tell you your computer is screwed up, or to call your ISP.
